Idukki - Harnessing my hidden strengths.....

First of all......... I am blogging after a looooooooong gap of 1 year...(Not Justified for a normal Blogger!!)
But I dont have any justifications for this...I am just like this.. May be beacuse I dint have anythign to scribble down during this period or lack of time (!)....

I got transferred to GEC, Idukki during the general transfer 2011.
Initially I was in a dilemma, as to whether join or not? Dadu gave me the mental support and made me join.

I am working here at Idukki since 9th June 2011. As any newcomer to Idukki will have, I too had many apprehensions initially. Regarding accomodation, kid''s schooling, etc.

I stayed in the College Ladies Hostel for one month, and managed to find a rented house at Thannikandam, 10 kms away from College. I put Kichu to Girijothi CMI Public School, and arranged a maid, Sumathychechi, to look after Thangu.

Though I found it very tough to settle down initially, now I have no regrets in my decision to come to Idukki.

In addition to the ever-pleasant climate, I am delighted with the work atmosphere here. A whole bundle of challenges and opportunities was awaiting me, and I am enjoying doing them. I get recognitions and at the same time criticisms, and I am trying to take everything positively.  I have a few inspiring people here, whose attributes could be emulated. At the same time, I can find not-so-serious, cool people also, whom you cant depend on for getting things done. (as is the case everywhere). Its a sad thing to note, but the reality.
I feel that I am able to deliver more here.

Even though people get only 3 days in-effect, (Mondays and Fridays are deemed to be travel days) more work is being done here. The greatest advantage is that I have a efficient panel of Technical staff in our Department, along with a ""always ready to help'" office staff members. We face acute shortage of TeachingStaff, but we are managing with Guest Lecturers.

BartonHill was different for me, though I joined there with high spirits, got married 6 months after joining. Our married life was not settled and we were not without its related issues... Then pregnancy, joining Dadu whenever I get vacations, then 1 year LWA (Leave Without Allowance).. and its aftermaths..

Everythign is well and wisely put...

SonyErricson Xperia X10- Dadu's New Mobile Phone

I have gifted Dadu a Sony Erricson Xperia X10 mobile phone (as his birthday gift). You may do a simple Googling for its tech specs. Its a good one, the features which we found the most attractive are GPS, Wi-Fi, video and user-freindliness. Dadu precisely wanted these in his new set.
We got it from Dubai Mall, this March end. My aunt is there with her family. They are really helping and loving, rarely you find people like them.
Dadu loves his new gadget and has subscribed for Mobile Internet facility also. Dadu wanted to send a urgent e-mail to his Boss when he was at Seeb Airport, he could easily do it through the Wi-Fi network there at Airport. He was so much excited that it helped him when he was in need.

Motherhood: Time when you start loving your mother even more..

Motherhood is something that cannot be expressed in words, it can only be felt and experienced. I am the proud mother of two daughters (kichu and thangu-- these are their pet names) I dont think that I am a "perfect" mom, but striving to become one, still lot to go!!! Being a mother for the first time is any woman's cherishable and unforgettable memory. Motherhood is the time you enjoy being a mother and also start loving your own mother even more. It is when you come to realize the hardships and pains our parents have taken to bring us up. It is not an easy thing to be a mother, it takes a load of patience, tolerance, love, dedication and more..

My mummy is a real 'dedicated' mom, always she has stayed by my way whenever I was in need of her. And no one else in this world can replace you, my dear Mummy!!! I have hurt her many times, but she forgives all my mistakes, simply beacuse shes my sweet Mummy..Gone are the days when I was under your shade, protected by you. I yearn to have those simple days back again!! At Kuzhithura (the place we were in for almost 30 years), even if our 'Jalajam' is not with us now, the memories will be fresh forever..Yesterday I happended to watch the movie clip of our old Jalajam, with a heavy heart.
Really miss those wonderful days of childhood..Now I have to stand on my own and take care of my family, following the paths you have shown me. I am learning slow, but I am learning..

It was a real challenge for me from shifting to the mother of two, being the mother of one. The roles differ by multiple dimensions, truly speaking!! I love my cuties and thank God for gifting them to us. Dadu loves daughters and thats why God has made us proud with 2 daughters :)

Salalah: a great relief for Muscateers..

Salalah is one of the beautiful places in Oman. Today, Dadu (for those who are not familiar--he's my loving husband)has gone to Salalah, in connection with a project. Its a PDO project. Its actually in a place called Marmul, 300kms away from Salalah. Miss you, Dadu.
We've been to Salalah once, with my parents. Within the 2nd month of Thangu's(our second daughter) birth. All were wondering how I could travel this distance, but we made it. It was a memorable trip. Achan (my beloved father) enjoyed driving with Dadu's Autogear Tucson, Autogear was new to him and he was really thrilled to drive it!!! My Mummy was occasionally tellng him to reduce the speed as he drove along!!!
The most wonderful thing is that we got a chance to be in one of the farmhouses there at Salalah!!! oh my god!!! was reminded of my home place--God's own country!!! Green green and green!!! Ambience was fabulous!!! The Salalah season is known by the name ''Khareef'. We got bananas, coconuts, tapiocas and papayas (Salalah is knwn for these).. I had posted the snaps in Picasa. It can be found in this link:

(the album name is Jan 2010)
Salalah is a very nice destination for Muscateers. A true relief of bliss, peace and solitude from Muscat's horrible heat and busy life schedule...
